One on One Lessons/Coaching:

Want to neutralize your accent or learn a new accent or dialect? Work on an audition monologue? Stuck in tension and can't release your authentic voice? We are born with a two to four octave range of speaking pitches that can become compromised and limited over time. Rebecca offers one on one Zoom coaching sessions to help Free your Natural Voice (Kristin Linklater).

Back to in-person coaching as soon as it is safe to do so.

She currently teaches voice, speech, audition and dialects in the BFA and MFA Programs at the Academy of Art University and has a flourishing private practice. She has also vocal and dialect coached for middle school, high school and University theatre productions in NYC and throughout the Bay Area.

“I have known Rebecca for years and she has helped me through so many aspects of my journey in theater. I have done voice lessons with her, acting lessons and worked with her as a director on numerous plays. She has also helped me to prep for auditions, giving guidance with both voice and acting segments. Working with Rebecca is always such a positive experience — she makes me feel good about myself, my abilities, what I can bring to a particular part, and has taught me so much about the world of theater! She also has a great sense of humor and helps to remind me that laughter can get you through even the most challenging and tough moments in life.”

“Our daughter has been fortunate enough to have benefited from Rebecca’s guidance since she was young…from her start acting in plays in elementary school all the way up through auditioning for high school and online theater opportunities. She has worked with Rebecca both in person on stage, in personal one-on-one sessions, and to prep for auditions during the pandemic via zoom. No matter what the setting, Rebecca carefully guides our daughter to understand what she is auditioning for, how to highlight the strengths she brings to a character and generally makes her feel more confident about the auditioning process as a whole. Rebecca is a tremendous musical talent, teacher, advisor, and overall genuine person, someone we feel incredibly fortunate to have helped guide our daughter in the world of music and theater.”

“Rebecca DuMaine is a lucky find for anyone looking for help with dialects, accent reduction, and opening up your voice’s potential for your next audition. Rebecca is one of those wonderfully rare teachers that really understands her craft inside and out, and can take that knowledge and experience and apply it to individual student’s needs. She helped me find a power in my lower register I didn’t know I possessed, a vulnerability in my higher register that connects me to some of my deepest desires, and the confidence to speak in front of a crowded room, whether it be giving a speech or performing on stage. Beyond the classroom, Rebecca is one of the kindest souls I know. Her motherly nature will help you feel safe to learn, while whipping you into shape when you need a little tough love. She’s helped my growth immeasurably over the few years I’ve been able to study under her, and I know I have a lifelong friend and mentor in Rebecca.”
